Take a break from the surf and sand to enjoy a picnic surrounded by tropical plants in the beautiful Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens, just a short 10 minute drive from Surfers Hawaiian Gold Coast holiday apartments.

The popular 31 hectare gardens encompass freshwater wetlands, dry rainforest, a children’s play area and lots of lush grassy areas to sit back on and enjoy the sunshine. One of the highlights of the gardens is the recently developed Mangroves to Mountains walk, a meandering walking track designed to showcase our diverse native plant species, which features over 12,000 different kinds of plant.

Elsewhere, you can take some time to relax in the pretty rose garden, admire a selection of our native butterflies in the butterfly garden, treat your senses in the fragrant Sensory Garden or just find a shady spot to unwind with a good book.

At the centre of the park, you’ll find the Friends Centre information hub, which runs daily guided tours (booking ahead is essential) and features a number of exhibits dedicated to the fascinating history of the gardens.
