Enjoy these two astounding shows at Home of the Arts.
Two different artists explore the yearning for self-expression in this powerful new work. Kayah is a young man who has Down Syndrome. He articulates the way he sees the world through dance. Choreographer Gavin Webber mentors Kayah on his journey. Kayah wants to remain healthy and full of life. He also wants the world to know about his struggles and vulnerabilities.
The Crossing shows the strong bond these two artists have. Through dance and improvisation, they are brought together. Kayah and Gavin explore their differences as well as their similarities. The duo has created a mutual space where they can do whatever they want and be whoever they want to be. Dance is the language through which they communicate their innermost desire for connection.
